GM Dejan Bojkov is a FIDE Senior Trainer and has advanced the careers of many strong players - the name most familiar to us is probably that of the former Women's World Champion, GM Antoaneta Stefanova. He is a lecturer in chess, an author, a journalist, and a very strong and active player. He is the current Olympiad Coach for the New Zealand team.
GM RB Ramesh was the official commentator for the Anand vs Carlsen World chess Championship Match, 2013. He is the former British chess champion in 2002 and Commonwealth Chess Champion in 2007. He is a FIDE trainer and has served as the coach of the Indian Olympiad team during 2012 and 2014. His students have received an impressive 5 gold medals at the World Youth.
Alexandra is currently a student at University of Stanford. She grew up in Canada and is an active member of the Canadian Olympiad Team. She was a five-time National Girls Champion in Canada and won the U.S. Girls Nationals when she was 15. By the way she also speaks 5 languages.
Hayk is a National Master with an ELO rating of about 2300. He has been teaching chess at various chess programs for over 4 years. Hayk won the North American Open (under 2300) twice and the Far West (under 2000). He has won games vs several International Masters. He is now a student at UC Santa Cruz.
Arthur Arutjunian is a Senior Master from Armenia. He earned 4 titles in USA with a peak rating of USCF 2432. He currently coaches several of the top kids in Northern California. Arthur has 25 years of experience teaching chess, including 5 years of teaching chess at a private school.
Celebrated coach Ted Castro has been teaching Chess for over 10 years. He is the founder and director of the popular chess club NorCal House of Chess. Students from NorCal House of Chess have registered great results at State, National and International Tournaments.
Our outgoing coach Vahak Mandjian has taught chess for over 10 years. He played Chess in 1st division in Lebannon and coached the HMEM Lebanese Youth Team. He received chess coach training from Grandmaster Tigran Kotanjian and has coached over 60 players in the Bay Area.
